Rose Walk & Herbaceous boder garden design

Location: Headcorn, Ashford, Kent, UK

This former field, in a very flat part of Kent, desperately needed entertaining space, focal points and colour to provide interest from the beautiful 16th century farmhouse whose owners now were to use it as a garden.

After obtaining the necessary permissions, the existing terrace was extended with old brick, and a low wall was built to provide extra seating.

Three large island beds of varying sizes are bordered by a long softwood pergola, planted by the client to indulge her rose-habit! A new orchard was planted to the other side of the pergola. These images show it in its first season.
