London garden before work commenced

This long, thin London garden is currently a blank canvas. Its owner, a keen plantswoman, wondered if separate areas were possible, and whether a pizza oven could be located anywhere. Four teenagers will also be using this garden, and so the necessity is for different areas that various family members can retreat to, without being seen from other areas of the garden. The routes to each of these areas become spaces in themselves, with seating along the way.

As is usual in London gardens, the space is overlooked from all sides, so the creation of three iron structures at intervals along the garden is in order to interrupt the overhead plane, creating a route for climbing roses and clematis thus giving privacy, as well as at bringing the eye down into the garden.
