Ok, so  I did get out into that sunshine. It gave me a chance to wander round our new garden and see how things are growing so quickly. The new roses http://jothompson-garden-design.co.uk/mygardenplants/ are producing lots of lovely red shoots, and the little Iris reticulata are positively jewel-like. It would be perfect if the weather could kindly stay just like this: not too hot, not too cold, and lots of lovely daylight for the leaves to soak up. The plants are looking promising at Roger Platt’s nursery: all exactly as I’d expect at this time of year, with some having put on a lot of growth in the last few days, whilst others are predictably  taking it in their own time. This is a good thing: we don’t want them coming into bud any time soon – still 72 days to go!
