The Caravan Garden,
RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2012

Inspired by a family holiday on the Isle of Wight, the focal feature of this RHS Chelsea Flower Show garden became a 1950s Fisher Holivan caravan, in a design capturing the magic of British summer holidays.

Always intended to be a ‘real’ garden, Jo’s design showed how a caravan can be part of your garden as a secret hideaway, summerhouse, home office or alternative guest bedroom.

Positioned within a tranquil woodland setting with pink and cream roses to soften the geometric and simple layout, the garden is a true celebration of all things British and the idyllic British countryside. A stretch of water runs through the garden along steel water rills. There are plenty of places to sit; timber seats, ergonomic benches or the bridge across the rill.

Planting included Anthriscus sylvestris Ravenswing, Pimpinella Majorrosea and Chaerophyllum Hirsutum Roseum, Paeonia Bowl of Cream, Erodium Chrysanthemim Pink Form, Geranium Himalayense Gravetye, Digitalis Serendipity, Thalictrum Elin and Geranium Phaeum Samobor in summer pastels colour palette.
