The Archers 75th Anniversary Garden
RHS Badminton Flower Show 2026
8-12 July 2026
To celebrate 75 years of The Archers, Jo Thompson designed a special feature garden inspired by Bridge Farm for the first ever RHS Badminton Flower Show.
As a passionate follower of The Archers, Jo worked closely with the team behind the programme and found it easy to get to know her ‘clients’, having checked in with them every day on the radio over the years. She knew that the Archers are busy farmers, embedded in their community, and unlikely to have a perfectly tidy, manicured garden.
The garden imagines Bridge Farm, the heart of Ambridge, lovingly replanted after a devastating flood. An orchard, wildflower meadow, and wildlife pond reflect how the farm has become a model of innovative, sustainable, organic practice, family-centred and joyful in spirit.
There are easter eggs hidden throughout: Tony’s vintage Fordson Major, Helen’s cheesemaking corner dressed with milk bottles and specially wrapped Borsetshire Blue and Sterling Gold, a loving tribute to grandchildren Nova and Seren, and an Ambridge noticeboard at the entrance sharing the latest goings-on in the village.
